Deploying Sound at Boxing Events Around the World
Over the past couple of years AF Live has had the privilege of designing, deploying and operating stadium-scale sound systems at many of the biggest boxing events in the in the world. Working closely with our production partners at Arena Video, our team has played a part in setting a new standard for live sound at these mega fights which welcome in-person audiences of up to 80,000 and steam to millions around the globe.
Let’s take a look at few notable highlights from recent times.
Glory in Giza | Usyk vs Rico | June 2026
As of the time of writing, this was the modern-day heavyweight king, Oleksandr Usyk’s most recent fight and an event which called for a custom stadium to be risen from the sand dunes surrounding the world’s most recognisable ancient wonder, the Pyramids of Giza.
Installation and design of this stadium-scale sound system was far from the usual process, with all technical production infrastructure being set up specifically for this event. When providing sound for major boxing events, the venues are usually world-class arenas and stadiums, with infrastructure and access to match – for Glory in Giza, success relied entirely on the flexibility, expertise and experience of the technical production teams involved.
Following a build process which offered many unique challenges to overcome, the custom L-Acoustics PA system which the AF Live team designed to meet event-organiser specs was deployed successfully and offered attendees of this unforgettable boxing event an audio experience to match the occasion.
Fury vs Makhmudov | Tottenham Hotspur Stadium | April 2026
AF Live’s return to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for Tyson Fury’s 2026 comeback from retirement, gave the team a chance to refine and elevate the sound system design, deployment and operation plans which had proved so effective on previous visits.
The Spurs’ home arena is a behemoth of a space, comfortably capable of accommodating 62,850 attendees, it is the UK’s third largest football stadium. On the mild April evening of this eagerly anticipated return to the ring for Fury, the sold out crowd were in fine voice and filling the air with the sound of their presence.
When designing sound systems for major sporting events such as this, the experience for the crowd in attendance is a top priority. AF Live is grateful to count a selection of highly experienced live sound engineers in it’s core team, whose deep understandings of the key interactions between PA systems, the spaces they’re deployed in and the crowds in those spaces are crucially important.

The Comeback | AJ vs Prenga | Jeddah Superdome | Jul 2026
Our ongoing involvement technical production work at top, world level boxing events has naturally taken our team around the world. Having a trusted network of internationally based PA suppliers has been a critical asset for shows such as Anthony Joshua’s comeback fight back in Jul.
Taking place at the Jeddah Superdome, this was a fight which the British fan favourite and former Olympic gold-medalist needed to win. Much like the Brit in the ring on for the main event, the AF Live team on site were focused on bringing their a-game to deliver exceptional live sound.
This was another night were L-Acoustics would feature heavily, as the striking & unique space under the domed roof of this large Saudi Arabian arena was kitted with a perfectly balanced sound system, designed to play to the venue’s strengths.
As is standard for AF Live’s deployments, it was a sound system which had been designed using venue schematics and L-Acoustics’ powerful SoundVision software, to simulate and map the space’s interactions with the PA system, to facilitate a fully customised audio solution.
Ball vs Figueroa | M&S Bank Arena, Liverpool | Feb 2026
Back in February, the team headed up the road to deliver show stopping audio production by the banks of the River Mersey, in the M&S Bank Arena for a massive featherweight clash featuring hometown hero, Nick Ball. Though the result of the bout may have been a disappointment for the Liverpool audience, AF Live made sure that the sound in the venue helped to lift spirits.
Ensuring that every member of the audience experiences powerful, clear and balanced sound at sporting events is all about control. Every step of the way from design, deployment, right through to operation, having steady hands at the controls to make the right choices is key.
Our front of house desk of choice for this event was a DiGiCo Quantum 326, a console which our engineers are extremely familiar with and features heavily in our deployments across a wide range of event types. It incredible flexibility, prodigious speed of operation and rock-solid reliability have made it a mainstay of our PA systems load-outs from major sporting events to music festivals and beyond.
Wembley Stadium
It’s always a pleasure to be offered the opportunity to ply our trade at Wembley Stadium. It’s a venue like no other, which enjoys a position as one of the UK’s most iconic sporting venues and has played host to countless historic events.
The AF Live team have found themselves delivering world class sound systems in this enormous space for a handful of unforgettable mega-fights and each time, the responsibility of ensuring pristine audio for the crowds of 80,000+ has been handled with skill.
